Well the way our showroom is filled with goodies this weekend you would think that Santa had done his rounds already some 2 weeks early! The lads are busy sorting through the lots and cataloguing them all but given me enough time to bring you a few more titbits that could have come straight out of Santa’s grotto.

A pair of antique Chippendale-style chairs
This pair of antique mahogany chairs are in the classic Chippendale style and are in great condition. They look absolutely super. There is also this Edwardian display cabinet with Bevel glass doors that is equally as desirable.

Edwardian display cabinet
Carrying on with the furniture theme we have this very ornately turned sideboard, and note the nice little what-not sitting on top of it.

A lovely sideboard
Or what about this nice little Ships Wash Stand for an unusual item?

A smaller item that is generating a deal of interest is this bronze statue of a bulldog. It stands approx 12 inches tall and is very finely detailed. THe more you look at it the more intricate features you notice. For dog lovers or fans of bronze sculptures this would be fantastic to find under the Christmas tree.

Bronze of a Bulldog
If you fancy your entertainment live and musical we have aq fantastic array of musical instruments for you: Pianos, Violins, a Viola, a Trumpet, and even an electric organ. Buy the lot and the whole ensemble could congregate around the tree on Christmas day having a fun festive sing-song!
But as ever this is only a tiny part of the four hundred plus lots we will be auctioning off on Monday 14th December at 7pm.
We will be open for viewing on Saturday, 12th and Sunday 13th from 1pm to 5:30pm, then all day Monday from 9am until the auction starts at 7pm prompt
For more information on how the auction operates go to our information page and for a full list of terms of trading see the terms & conditions page.
We wish all our vendors and buyers a Happy Christmas and Prosperous New Year

Our showroom is already getting filled to overflowing
We are now into December & the weather has turned fully to winter. We are busy preparing for the final auction before the festive season and are confident that you can all find a lovely present, a little bargain or a key piece of furniture that will make your Christmas a s special one.
To give you a good idea of the variety of things we have for you this is just a small corner of our showroom. As you can see it is already being filled with interesting lots.
We have a very nice glass fronted display cabinet

Display cabinet
This three door book case-come display cabinet is a lovely piece with glass fronted panels, shelving and storage area. It is bound to be a key piece on December 14th. As you can see there are also some very nice car models and some nice examples of Waterford Crystal to tempt a bidder.

Nice modern book case
As ever art features heavily and we have this oil on canvas, a modern take of flowers in a vase

Flower vase oil on canvas
Something a little bit different is this childs pram. Whilst in need of some restoration it is still a nice piece and will appeal to many.

We will continue to upload a good selection of the lots we receive so watch this space! Our next auction will be on Monday 14th December at 7pm so we have just over a week to take in more stock.
For more information on how the auction operates go to our information page and for a full list of terms of trading see the terms & conditions page.

As we head into December and Christmas looms nearer thoughts turn to the festive season. We are already receiving in some great items, and there are certainly some great pieces that would make perfect presents.
This Victorian Walnut Chiffonier, is a beautiful item. Boasting a nice marble top and ornately hand carved corbels, it is a really lovely piece of furniture. It has certainly generated some interest already.

Victorian Walnut Chiffonier
Declan Marry’s oil paintings have proved to be popular. They are certainly well painted and eye catching, but considered opinion is they make a sound investment as well. Whatever I wouldnt mind either of these two examples on my wall.
The larger of the two is a framed & glazed oil on canvas of a jazz singer, and the smaller is an oil on canvas seascape featuring sailing boats.

For the music lover there is this very fine violin complete with bow & case

The second Chiffonier we have to show you is an equally fine example in Rosewood with a mirror back. Again we have already had parties shwoing an interest in it, hardly suprising for such a fine item.

But as ever this is only a tiny part of the four hundred plus lots we will be auctioning off on Monday 14th December at 7pm.

All of our auction items are in, logged, and catalogued, so all there is left is for you to come along and view the great stuff we have for you.
In the last few days we brought in some lovely items from a house clearance, which we think will be appreciated by laymen and dealers alike.

A beautiful wardrobe

A very nice dining table

metal frame bed with inlaid headboard

Another lovely wardrobe
We also have a great selection of tools, and garden ware, like this ROC Pressure Washer. Petrol driven, it is a self contained unit with metal frame & pneumatic tyres, & of course its in working condition.

ROC Pressure Washer
We also have two petrol driven chain saws, a back pack spray unit, a shovel & spade set, carpentry tools and some fine garden ornaments.
Coming back inside we have a very nice brass & inlaid 3 tier étagère standing 2’6” tall. What a lovely piece it is too.

With everything now set all that is left is for you to come along this week-end and have a look. I am sure you will see something that will take your fancy, so make sure you are here for the 7pm start & start bidding!
On Saturday, Sunday & Monday we will be open for viewing for you to come and have a look at your leisure. for more information on how the auction operates go to our information page and for a full list of terms see the terms & conditions page.

As we move closer to December, with the recession biting harder and the most important budget of a decade approaching, it is important that we all try and maximise our spending to best effect. Whether you are buying or selling, auction is surely the best way of making the most of your goods – easily, effectively and conveniently.

This month is potentially the best auctions for many months. The quality of the lots we are receiving is quiet exciting This book case displays a range of some of the collectibles, ornaments and curios we have already received:
There are items of Waterford crystal (ever popular), brass desk ornaments, a set of books, 3 Wade lustre jugs, 3 spirit barrel jugs, a Staffordshire flat back figure of Charles Ist, wooden mantle clock & an Art Deco desk set. We have a few assorted brass pieces, a pair of cream modern vases, plus a good size single glazed vase. And of course the display cabinet itself will likely suit some buyer!
But as ever this is only a tiny part of the four hundred plus lots we will be auctioning off on Monday 9th November at 7pm
Good quality furniture will feature strongly and we are surely impressed by some of the items we have for you.

An impressive dumb waiter
This mahogany 3 tier dumb waiter stands over 5 foot tall and the lowest table has a diameter of 2′8″ Truly impressive dimensions and no lack of quality either.
An item that is quite unusual is this very fine Dutch Range dating from 1945. Solid fuel burning, I am advised it is highly effective as well as being a beautiful item.

The selection of art and prints we have is as diverse as ever. There is a very nice Dutch style portrait:

Pair of lovely dogs
or this lovely landscape image featuring two beautiful Colly dogs.
When hosting a dinner party the quality of the table ware should always impress and I would expect that this set of Stainless steel cutlery from Oneida Silversmiths would tempt your guests to return, as much as the quality of the cooking.

An Indian Tree dinner service from Johnson Brothers would be the making of the table set as well.

Finally sit back and relax in this pair of fine mahogany ladies chairs

On Saturday, Sunday & Monday we will be open for viewing. So why not come and have a look at your leisure. for more information on how the auction operates go to our information page and for a full list of terms of trading see the terms & conditions page.

Happy Halloween to one and all, and we hope that you had a suitably spooky week end. All the lads have been busy this week sorting the stock and preparing the rooms for next weeks auction. We always pride ourselves on the diversity of the lots we auction and the November auction on Monday 9th is looking to be no exception.
This month we have something of interest for our musically inclined customers. This iron framed upright piano was made by the noted Max Dreyer company of Berlin. It is in beautiful condition and plays with a lovely rich sound.

One of a couple of pianos in the November auction
Quality pianos in good condition always prove popular and this one is likely to be no exception, judging by the interest already shown in it.
Furniture is a mainstay of our auctions and this Victorian style 2 door wardrobe is quite pretty and should be a bargain for someone.

A Victorian style wardrobe
another popular item of furniture is an occasional table and this is a typically nice example

And I am sure someone will appreciate this lovely little chair.

a nice little chair
As many people around the area are involved with horses it’s no surprise that Equine art is popular. This hunting print will interest some of these I would imagine.

A hunting scene
This figurine of a cowboy on a bucking horse is amazingly detailed, and these items are popular with a wide range of people. They can command big money in the shops but rest assured you could snap it up for a lot less next Monday night.

We will continue posting new and interesting items on the website right up to the week end so keep an eye on us. On Saturday, Sunday & Monday we will be open for viewing for you to come and have a look at your leisure. for more information on how the auction operates go to our information page and for a full list of terms see the terms & conditions page

We hope that like us, you had a grand weekend and that the weather was kind in whatever pursuits you followed. There was talk of some of the lads entering for the Dublin Marathon but I noticed that as the week end neared, the main contenders were crying off. Probably just as well given the lack of training in the preceding weeks!
So the last bank holiday of the year has now passed. The clocks have gone back and autumn is truly upon us. Here at Royal Oak Auction rooms our thoughts turn to the next monthly auction on November 9th, and some of the fine and interesting items we already have for you.
First up we have these two lovely book cases. On the left is a three door reproduction, and the second is a nice Victorian two door. Both are in fine condition, so I suppose it is whichever suits your taste and compliments your existing furniture better.

Two very nice book cases
A vendor would like us to put up for auction this very nice gilt mirror, and we are more than happy to oblige. It is ornately decorated, a decent size, in good condition and would look a treat over any fireplace.

Dining room furniture is such a feature of any home it is not surprising that we get so much interest in good condition, high quality items at all our auctions. But it is specially true at this time of year when thoughts turn to large families gathered together to celebrate the festive season. This is one very nice example that will doubtless prove popular: a Regency style extending table with matching chairs. We have set out the table with a beautiful 26 piece Booths dining service to give you the full sense of occasion.

This chiffonier is so well styled. It is in fine condition and is such a feature. Note also the Oak mantle clock, so simple yet beautiful.

Dont forget that we will be posting many more exciting items on the web site over the next few weeks so make sure you log in regularly to see what we have.
We are still accepting lots for the November auction on Monday 9th so if you think you have something that may be interesting why not contact us on:-

Well the week end is upon us and there are some great events for locals to look forward to. First there is the appearance of local GAA club Erins Own in the Senior Hurling Final at Dr Cullen Park, along with the appearance of the Ballinkillen club in the Minor finals. Royal Oak Auction Rooms wish both teams the best of luck.
Some of our friends will be travelling along to see both games, but they will still have plenty of time to view the great bargains we have at the week ends last big event – our massive Monday night auction.

Our showroom - packed to the gunnels again!
As you can see from the above photo once again we are filled to bursting with the widest range of lots and pieces. Antique sideboards, tables & chairs, alongside modern pieces of furniture too. Bedside lockers, lamps, desks and stools. Chaise longue’s, sofa and 3 piece suites. A massive 6ft wide head & base board, along with smaller sizes to fit the cosier bedroom! Firescreens, ornaments books & curios. Collectible crystal, elegant dinner services, and stylish tea sets. Sporting goods and brand new tools for the handyman. If books or stamps are your fashion then we have those too. We have some highly desirable pieces of art to suit all tastes.

a very relaxing painting, I know a few people who would love it
For example this oil on canvas is beautiful and rich in colour. The scene of a woman & child on the waterfront is both uplifting & relaxing.

A beautiful tall book case
This book case has glass fronted doors above the cupboard space and stands an impressive 7 foot tall by 3′3″ wide
What about this modern wardrobe? Double doors and central mirror in a 4′ x 6′ frame:

A nice modern wardrobe
For the handyman or gardener this Husqvarna petrol chain saw would be ideal: small, light yet amazingly powerful for its size. I am sure it will come in useful this autumn.

Petrol chain saw
The firescreen is a useful item, as well as being pretty.

A pretty little firescreen
The table is set, 4 chairs around with 2 carvers, one at each end. The 22 piece delph dinner service adds that touch of elegance, as does the candelabra.

The table is set for six
Now what do we need to finish it off?

Anyone for tea?
Ah yes, a stylish tea service reflecting the candle light!
Dont forget that we are open for viewing Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th from 1pm to 5:30pm. On Monday we will be open for viewing from 9am until the auction starts at 7pm prompt. I hope to see you there!

So we have voted again on Lisbon and this time its a resounding yes, now perhaps we can all move on with our lives. Doubtless the Credit Crunch, as with most things nowadays, had a lot to do with shaping peoples views. At Royal Oak Auction Rooms we want to do our bit for making peoples lives a little easier and what better way than saving yourself money on the purchase of quality used items?
For instance we have a very desirable Victorian two door book-case that is just begging to be the focal piece of someones lounge

A great way to display your best loved books
This lovely mahogany sideboard would grace any home and would be a great feature

Mahogany sideboard
We have received in a few very nice examples of oil on canvas by the noted Dublin artist Declan Marry. His work is quickly gaining in popularity and previous works have generated quite a degree of interest when they came up for auction with Royal Oak Auction Rooms. This particular painting of singer & musician is to his usual high standards and will likely be sought after as well.
Is this an opportunity to get in on the ground floor & buy something by a noted artist before prices sky-rocket? Even if not, I would still like it on my wall.

A fine example of Declan Marry's art
Waterford Crystal never loses its appeal and these items are sure to generate interest. Candle-holders, vases and table lamp will be quick movers in my opinion.

Waterford Crystal - always popular
Returning to the furniture we have a nice pair of mahogany cabinets that look desirable

mahogany side cabinets
We will continue to post any interesting items that come in, right up until the catalogue in produced on Friday 16th so make sure you check back to us regularly. The next auction is on Monday 12th October at 7pm sharp.
For more information on how the viewing and auction itself is held please see the “Auction Information” page and if you have any questions either post a comment on here on see our “Contact Details” page.

With less than two weeks now to the next auction on Monday October 12th things are getting very busy once again at Royal Oak Auction Rooms.
We are still taking in items for auction but already have some things to entice you.
These four leather carver dining chairs would make dinner times a pleasure to the eye as well as the palate.

A set of four carver chairs
For the bedroom we have a Mahogany period 2 over 3 chest of drawers in beautiful condition, seen here with a nice pair of lidded vases:-

These next two items will most likely be of interest to collectors and restorers. The one on the left is drop dial clock, and the other a fine example of an American wall clock. Both of these are in need of restoration, as they work for a short period.

A pair of interesting clocks
Two nice blue upholstered chairs will draw some attention as well.

Of a more modern design are these two high stools which would suit a modern furnished kitchen bar

A pair of modern bar stools

A nice Torchere
This Torchere stands 3′3″ tall and is quite ornately carved. It makes quite a feature and will generate some interest for sure.
As usual this is only a small sample of some of the items we have to offer for auction on Monday 12th October. But don’t worry, you need not miss a thing: We will be open for viewing from 1pm until 5:30 on Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th October, as well as being open all day Monday 12th until the auction starts at 7pm sharp.
